WHEN I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO COMPETE IN MY FIRST PHYSIQUE COMPETITION I KNEW IT MADE SENSE TO WORK WITH A TOP COACH WHO'D COMPETED AT A HIGH LEVEL AND WHO'D COACHED OTHER PHYSIQUE ATHLETES. AFTER MEETING WITH SCOTT AND GETTING ALONG WELL, SCOTT AND I WORKED TOGETHER FOR 12 WEEKS TO BRING ME INTO STAGE CONDITION. THE CONDITION WE ACHIEVED ON COMPETITION DAY WAS STANDOUT. WHEN I MET SCOTT I SAID TO HIM GIVE ME THE OPTIMAL TRAINING AND NUTRITION- NO COMPROMISES, I WILL DO WHAT IT TAKES. THE TRAINING PROGRAMMING GOT SERIOUSLY INTENSE AT TIMES BUT IT FOLLOWED A PERIODISED APPROACH SO THAT I WAS ABLE TO REACH PEAK CONDITION WITHOUT BURNING OUT. THE NUTRITIONAL ADVICE MADE COMPLETE SENSE AND WAS SIMPLE TO FOLLOW, ALLOWING ME TO EAT SOME OF MY FAVOURITE FOODS LIKE STEAK AND SALMON. THE ACCOUNTABILITY THAT SCOTT PROVIDED WAS EXCELLENT, WITH PROGRESS PICTURES BEING SEND REGULARLY, SKIN FOLDS BEING LOGGED SO THAT THE APPROPRIATE ADJUSTMENTS COULD BE MADE TO MY REGIMEN. ONE THING THAT REALLY STOOD OUT WAS THE ENCOURAGEMENT THAT SCOTT PROVIDED, ESPECIALLY DURING THE HARDEST WEEKS, THIS INSPIRED ME TO PUSH HARDER. SCOTT EARNED MY RESPECT AS AN ATHLETE AND A COACH THROUGH A COMBINATION OF HIS INTELLIGENCE, WALKING THE WALK, AND HIS NO-NONSENSE APPROACH. WHEN A PERSON COMMANDS RESPECT AND INSPIRES YOU, THAT'S WHEN A COACHING ARRANGEMENT TAKES ON A SPECIAL MAGIC. TWO PEOPLE WORKING TOWARDS ONE AGENDA- BEING ABSOLUTELY SHREDDED.
